Glossary and Notes
Contents
- Form and Content
- These are the two main components of any communication.
Content represents the essence of what we want to convey. Form is the package in which we
put it in order for it to be best accepted, digested and understood. A common
mistake often made by the Church is that it zealously puts much emphasis on the
content in the interests of orthodoxy and correctness, but
overlooks the importance of the form — or style — in which it is presented.
- Evangelism
- Any activity conducted in the Name of Christ that results in individuals or communities being drawn closer to him in terms of faith and commitment
- Christian Witness
- Possibly a more inclusive term than Evangelism and free of the connotations associated with Evangelism - such as mass rallies and a preaching style of presentation. Bryant Myers recommends it as a better term and more descriptive of the wider range of activities that constitute evangelism in the broadest sense - as defined above
